Kaze Chabudai - Japanese Dining Table

$2,000.00

A chabudai (茶部台) is a traditional Japanese-style dining table, typically low to the ground, ranging from 15 to 30 centimeters (6 to 12 inches) in height. It is designed for sitting on the floor, often on cushions called zabuton, rather than using chairs. Chabudai tables are versatile and can be used for dining, tea ceremonies, studying, or other activities. Historically, these tables were central to Japanese homes, embodying the culture’s emphasis on simplicity, functionality, and connection to the living space. Today, they remain a symbol of traditional Japanese design, offering a minimalist and harmonious aesthetic that integrates well with both traditional and modern interiors.

The Kaze Chabudai is a refined Japanese-style dining table that embodies harmony, simplicity, and craftsmanship. The table is comprised of 3 components, the table top, mounting plate, and table base. The base is a barrel polygon joined seamlessly all around. The Table top is 66” diameter and 1.25” thick and bolts to the mounting plate that secures the table top in place. The table top and table base are designed to be easily disassembled from the mounting plate. The table base also features four adjustable leveling pods so the base does not sit directly on the floor, to avoid scratching or damaging the floor. The table shown in the pictures is made from red oak, stained in Early American dark stain. The top coat is a clear urethane to seal and protect the table top for generations of loyal service and style.

Each table is hand crafted and custom made with incredible attention to detail. The Kaze Chabudai is designed to showcase the classic tradition of Japanese woodworking, it also showcases clean lines of our unique design that highlights the natural beauty of the geometric shapes. Perfect for small gatherings or serene tea ceremonies, the Kaze Chabudai adds timeless elegance to any space, blending tradition with contemporary living.
