Taking on a Massive Custom Entertainment Center, From Concept to Reality
When a client approached us with a bold request — a massive, fully custom entertainment center — we’ll admit we hesitated for just a moment. At 130 inches long and 120 inches tall, with oversized drawers, built-in LED lighting, and precise joinery, it was an ambitious project. But our team thrives on challenges, and we knew we could make it happen.
From Idea to Design Approval
The project began with CAD designs that mapped every inch of the entertainment center. The client was very particular, checking in frequently to ensure every element matched their vision. The final plan included:
Center panel to accommodate a large TV
Seven spacious drawers
Two top cabinets for additional storage
Four massive bottom cabinets for heavy-duty functionality
Integrated LED lighting for a warm, modern ambiance
With design approvals in place, we moved to the workshop to turn the plans into reality.
Handcrafted and Built to Last
We built the entire piece by hand from solid poplar wood, finishing it with a seamless, natural-style finish that highlights the wood’s beauty while keeping clean lines. Each drawer, cabinet, and panel was carefully measured and crafted, ensuring perfect alignment. Because of its size and weight, the entertainment center was bolted securely to the wall for safety and stability. The overall concept was a 2 piece cabinet, the bottom section, which is the 4 drawer was the solid base, while the top section, the would be mounted atop. The walls of the cabinet are 3” thick, but to maintain minimal use of material, they were made hollow!
Delivery, Installation, and Transformation
Installation day was a meticulous process, we had to bring in each section and mount the larger one atop the base, it tool 5 men and a very large truck. We carefully delivered and assembled the massive unit, adjusted each element, and even helped the client sell their old furniture to make room. Seeing the center panel, drawers, and cabinets perfectly in place — LED lights glowing — was a proud moment for the whole team. The client was thrilled with the finished product. Their excitement reminded us why we take on ambitious projects like this — to craft pieces that are functional, beautiful, and truly one-of-a-kind.
